Celebrating a Season of Joy and Togetherness at Equatorial Plaza
2 December 2025 – As the year draws to an end, Equatorial Plaza transforms into a beacon of holiday warmth in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The building’s festive décor ushers in the season with charm, from its signature red and green illumination to the gigantic Christmas tree greeting visitors at the entrance. Together, these elements set a celebratory atmosphere that carries through the entire building.
Inside the lobby, guests will encounter a dedicated Christmas retail corner from the #1 city hotel, EQ, featuring an assortment of seasonal treats, thoughtful hampers, and festive goodies. Adjacent to it, the annual Angel Tree Initiative continues its meaningful tradition. Each wish card hanging on the lobby tree represents a child from Shelter Home, and visitors are invited to fulfil these wishes by contributing a gift or donation, which will later be delivered by the hotel team during a special Christmas gathering, reflecting the hotel’s ongoing commitment to community support.
On the Lower Ground 2 level, Étoile, the café bistro, once again hosts BookXcess with a seasonal pop-up bookstore. The space offers an inviting retreat for those seeking inspiring reads, unique gifts, or a quiet moment amid the year-end bustle.
Adding to the celebrations, this festive period features the Alive in Time Exhibition, presented in collaboration with Grand Seiko. The showcase brings a curated selection of timeless timepieces to the Plaza, offering guests the chance to explore or acquire refined pieces throughout the season until 4 January 2026.
Visitors can also discover a range of festive dining experiences within the property, each adding its own flavour to the season. Throughout the hotel, restaurants introduce seasonal touches to their menus, from lavish buffets at Étoile and Nipah that bring people together over familiar holiday comforts to relaxed afternoon teas at Bottega that offer a slower moment in the midst of the year-end bustle.
Guests looking for something more refined will find thoughtful festive menus crafted for intimate celebrations at the award-winning fine dining restaurant, Sabayon, while those who prefer simplicity can enjoy the comforting precision of authentic Japanese cuisine at Kampachi.
