Equatorial Plaza Marks Cervical Cancer Elimination Day
21 November 2025 – On November 17th, the World Health Organisation (WHO) marked a historic milestone with the introduction of the first-ever World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day.
At Equatorial Plaza, we believe a building is more than its structure. It is part of the community and a place that stands with the people it serves. In support of this global initiative, our façade was illuminated in Teal, the recognised colour of hope and awareness for cervical cancer, together with Merdeka 118 and Menara DBKL.

Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide and is primarily caused by persistent infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV). It is also a disease that can be prevented and treated effectively when detected early, which places strong emphasis on the importance of regular health screenings. Through routine screening, HPV self-sampling and timely follow-up care, women gain access to the protection they need and a significantly reduced risk of late-stage diagnosis.
World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day serves as a reminder that ending cervical cancer is possible. Through increased awareness, access to screening and continued education, communities can play an active role in safeguarding women’s health.
At Equatorial Plaza, we stand with the women in our community and remain committed to supporting awareness, education and preventive healthcare. Lighting up our building in Teal is our way of honouring this important cause and contributing to a future where cervical cancer is no longer a threat.
Together, we can make cervical cancer a thing of the past.
